Flowers

My ever growing collection of house plants also provides inspiration. I am enjoying exploring the medium of Lino. In particular the use of colour. (not something I have done in my formative years).

I like the idea of breaking free from the conventions of boundaries which restrict and contain and to allow the subject to break free into the space.

Geum and Lily flowers - these were the broken off flower heads found after the dog had gone on the rampage in the garden. I had originally made ‘collagraph’ images, as I was interested in the particular effects that process makes. Textures, flat areas, and the white halo effect left around collage materials and using the white of the paper to define the shapes.
